The beds were comfortable, the shower was amazing, and check-in went smoothly. Edy (Spelling?) and the other front desk lady were so pleasant, smiling and making us feel welcome and at home. Amber, who manages breakfast, was helpful, friendly, accommodating with availability, and professional. We had a small dog, and the hotel welcomed our pup too, with dog treats and a door sign. We’ll definitely stay here again when we’re in the area.

The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and Tony was very helpful, including with signing us up for the hotel rewards program. We’ll definitely stay here again.

We had booked a Double Queen Room for a concert night at Pine Knob, but our group of four arrived around 2:30 PM and the room wasn’t ready. When we came back after grabbing food, a woman told us we’d been “upgraded,” without giving a real reason. The concert started at 3:30, so we said we’d check in after it ended. At about 11:30 PM, we returned to find they’d given away our room and were overbooked. The front desk man said there was nothing to be done. I insisted on a manager, and after he called her, they suddenly found two rooms with King beds. Both were still dirty at 11 at night. We waited another 40 minutes in the lobby while he changed sheets, cleaned toilets, and brought towels. At checkout, we got the General Manager’s card and were told to call Monday the 22nd. I called twice this week and was told, “Any questions you have for her I can answer.” No, that’s unacceptable. If those two dirty rooms hadn’t been available, four parents would have been at risk of driving over two hours home after drinking at a concert. They jack up prices on concert nights, and the customer service is terrible. Do not stay here.

The outage lasted more than eight hours on the first full day of my five-night stay, and I couldn’t get my work done. I was traveling with my cats and didn’t know whether my key card would work, so I was afraid to leave the room in case I couldn’t get back in to them. The front desk couldn’t tell me, and the staff weren’t reassuring or helpful. The lower two floors had hallway lights, but the third floor was dark; as it got darker outside, the emergency lights went out too. There were no lights in the top-floor stairwell either. They offered no discount for the inconvenience or for my lost work time.

The room phone had no wire and wasn’t connected, so we couldn’t call the front desk. We arrived to find the hotel without power, and staff gave us no solutions or concern, basically saying it wasn’t their problem. They first said power would be back by 8:30 PM, then changed that to 8 AM, but it still wasn’t on. There were no updates, accountability, or compassion. A power outage can happen anywhere, but this hotel showed its character through indifference and excuses. Guests deserve honest communication and care.
