Holiday Inn Express Atlanta NE I-85 Clairmont by IHG

On earlier visits I'd enjoyed staying here, which made this time especially disappointing. The second-floor ice machine was broken, and breakfast was a letdown: the pancake machine wasn't working, there was no milk or yogurt, and the only muffins were gluten-free. We checked in late and slept until about 10 a.m. We asked housekeeping to come back later, waited more than an hour, and no one returned. We had to ask for extra towels ourselves. The front desk representative said the room would be taken care of, but it wasn't. After getting home, I spotted a $6 water amenities charge on my bill that I hadn't authorized. I never buy things from hotel snack areas because I bring my own. I contacted Gerald, who said he was the Assistant General Manager, and asked how room charges are verified. He said guests are supposed to show ID and provide their room number, but that clearly hadn't happened here. He offered 500 points and said he'd look into it. Please do better.

We chose this hotel because breakfast was advertised, but it arrived more than 40 minutes late. With plans to get to, that basically took away an amenity we'd counted on. The room itself was nice, clean, and usable, but we were let down.

Housekeeping was great, and the whole stay was a good one. The place was clean and smelled nice, breakfast was great, and the staff gave really good customer service. I'd definitely recommend it.

My two granddaughters and I stayed here while we had a patient at the children's hospital. Everyone was friendly and kind. We liked the breakfast, and the rooms were excellent.
