Motel 6 Clarkston, WA

We had a quiet, comfortable week to rest and recharge for the holidays. The rooms were clean, the showers hot, and the staff greeted us with smiles as we left. Lisa at the front desk was especially polite and respectful, and helped with anything we needed. The location is great, close to fast food, grocery stores, parks, restaurants, and shopping, and it's pet friendly. We enjoyed the views of the snake river and the blue bridge while walking our 3lb chihuahua.

The room had a strong mold-like smell, and the front desk person was rude and disrespectful from the start. We didn't feel safe or comfortable staying, so we asked for a refund for the unused nights, but that was refused. About an hour after check-in, staff confronted us about a visitor. I understand hotels have rules, but the way they handled it was unprofessional. Around 11 PM the manager pounded on our door aggressively while my children were inside, frightening them. We weren't making noise or disturbing anyone. The situation felt hostile and intimidating instead of a calm explanation of the policy. Based on how we were treated, I wouldn't recommend this location.

The pool and hot tub were the main reason we booked, so finding a sign saying the indoor pool was closed for winter was frustrating. An indoor pool closed for winter? Make that make sense. The beds were clean, but old and uncomfortable, and I could feel the springs all night. The location and price were good, and the hotel was clean, but I was disappointed with the pool and bed.

The pool and hot tub are out of order, and the sidewalk is uneven in several spots. Inside, the rooms were dirty and the bed was very uncomfortable. The toilet is old and so low to the ground, and you can't flush toilet paper without it clogging, even when you really need to go. The door needs new weather stripping. The coffee maker is a joke, it breaks every week. The maintenance man replaced it promptly, but he's had to do that several times.
