Econo Lodge & Suites Clarksville near Governors Square Mall

I don't care how down and out you are, don't book the EconoLodge on Wilma Rudolph. There were roaches and black mold, and the stained tub wasn't even usable for washing. When I brought it to the office, all they offered was a free stay. Why would I come back after leaving with roaches in my bags, along with my kids? The pool was nasty and uncleaned. They advertised it as heated, but it was cold and stained. They wouldn't give me a refund, and the night front desk woman was extremely disrespectful.

A family member was allowed to cancel my prepaid reservation, though I got it restored after speaking with the manager. While I was asleep, the front desk gave that family member my room and a key without calling to check whether they were allowed to have my room information. The police were there constantly, and I won't book here again. My room was dirty and the bed had holes.

The second room had a dirty toilet and a refrigerator full of old, smelly, rotting food. The first room was under construction, with drywall mud on the walls and floor, tools, plastic and towels scattered around, and no toilet seat. At the front desk, the employee struggled with check-in and nearly couldn't get my driver's license out of the scanner. It was after midnight, and I'd been driving since 6 a.m., so I just wanted my money back and another hotel. The desk employee had to call the manager, who wanted to explain the room conditions and speak to me by phone. I told him I didn't need an explanation, I needed a refund and to leave. I said I'd call the police if they wouldn't return my money. The front desk kid said the credit would take a few days, so I told him I'd be checking my account daily.

Cockroaches were all over both rooms. In the first one, opening the fridge released such a moldy stench it choked me, and the fridge itself was full of mold. I only stayed because my company had provided the hotel; otherwise, I would've left and asked for a refund. The walls and everything else were filthy. There were pubic hairs everywhere, including under the nightstand, and jelly smeared across the microwave front. Cockroaches crawled around the AC filters, which looked caked with grease and dirt and had never been cleaned. I was moved to a second room after asking, and most of the photos I attached were from that room. I don't know how they keep the place open. More people need to speak up.
