Garner Hotel Clarksville Northeast by IHG

I paid extra for what I expected to be a really nice room, so I was very disappointed by this two-night stay. Breakfast was mostly pork, with very little variety or other choices. The first room was freezing. The heat ran for 3-5 minutes, then the air conditioning would come on for a long time. My daughter told the front desk, and we were told maintenance would fix it first thing in the morning. When I asked at breakfast when the maintenance person would arrive, a different desk employee said they don’t work weekends. I asked to change rooms. The first room they sent me to was down the hall, but the key didn’t work and a baby was crying continuously. I went back for another key and was given a different room. Its heat worked, so I had to pack up our things and move them. The hot water never got hot in either room. Later, while my daughter had taken the car to pick up her sister, I was sitting in the room doing paperwork or sewing when a housekeeper let herself in with a key without knocking. She said she didn’t know anyone was inside. That felt very suspicious. After all that, I’ll likely think twice before coming back.

The rooms are extremely well kept, and the staff were all so kind. Teri is fantastic, and we absolutely adore her. We’ve never had service this good. Chris is amazing too, and we feel lucky to have met them. Hope I spelled your name right, Chris! Thank you, Kenny, for your kindness as well. Donna, Theresa, and Hannah, thank you too. I highly recommend this hotel.

Garner was a decent hotel, but that was about it. Room service wasn’t consistent because they were short staffed, though the front desk employees were working incredibly hard. Hannah was the reason the place felt worthwhile to me. She helped when I was sick, helped me with my laundry, and was such a pleasure to talk with. She really goes above and beyond, and I hope they give her a raise. Keep it up, Hannah, you deserve the recognition.

The shower was nice, and the room had Dove essentials, but the bed was really uncomfortable. Our first room had a broken refrigerator and trash left behind by the previous guests, so we were moved. The bed in the second room had dog hair all over it. I know it was a pet-friendly floor, but they should still change the comforter.
