Bed & Barrel at Stonehouse Cellars

The house felt luxurious, with modern design and everything impeccably clean. We left feeling rested and refreshed, grateful for the memories. The staff did so much to make the weekend special. We had a private dinner that suited the setting beautifully, and earlier enjoyed a picnic among the lovely vineyard scenery. The property was quiet and secluded, like our own vineyard retreat, which gave us a chance to disconnect and spend time together. The wine selection added a celebratory touch to our romantic getaway. We'd absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic, luxurious escape.

Brittany was a wonderful host and a superb chef. Breakfast and dinner were both outstanding, and everyone working on the grounds was friendly, lively, and helpful. We also enjoyed the hosted tasting and bought several bottles of their wine. We visited this lovely bed and breakfast and winery with another couple in early April, after a long rainy season. The green hills and vineyards were full of new growth and wildlife. The main shared interior space was unusual and beautiful, and we spent much of the day relaxing there. Our rooms were comfortable and spacious too. A relaxing, beautiful place that we'd recommend.

Brittany made us feel welcome and went out of her way to make our visit memorable. Her breakfast creations were amazing. Robert even stayed late to finish our wine tasting, and his expertise made it a great experience. We'd just spent two nights at Bed & Barrel and had a really fun time. We're new to California wine country and enjoy visiting distinctive properties and trying their wines. We'll definitely come back, probably with friends.

Update: I've finally heard from the hotel. They spoke with hotels.com and refunded my money, and got back to me by phone and email. I'd consider giving them another chance in the future. I made a reservation through hotels.com the day before I was due to arrive. When I got there at 5 p.m. to check in, everything was dark and the only one there to greet me was a Siamese cat. It was very affectionate and social, but looked like it had recently been attacked by a larger animal and needed veterinary care for infected puncture wounds. I left for a friend's house and tried calling to ask how check-in worked. No one answered or replied to my emails. That was 11 days ago. I called again, and hotels.com reached out too, but neither of us got a response. I needed my money back because I held up my end of the agreement but couldn't check in. The fine print at hotels.com said they couldn't refund me because they hadn't been able to confirm that I was unable to check in and use the reservation.
