Two people stayed outside my room all night yelling and fighting, and the manager never came out. It seemed like people screaming all night was normal there. The room was filthy and run down. There was mold in the shower, the only towel was stained, and there wasn’t a hand towel, washcloth, or shampoo, just a tiny bar of soap. The toilet paper holder was broken and the roll kept falling off. There was a bed in my kitchen, and the dishes were dirty. I had to sweep and mop the room and bathroom, but dirt still stuck to my feet after I got out of the shower. There was barely any water pressure or hot water either. I stayed one night in Feb 2025. I’d tell everyone to pass this place by. It’s a filthy, run down druggie motel, not clean, not safe, and not worth it.

Bob, the owner, is thoughtful and makes sure the lodging is safe, clean, conscientious, and affordable. The cabins are lovely, with plenty of room to spread out and everything you need to cook, plus they’re right on the lake. I have nothing but good things to say. If you need a place to stay in lake county, try Vista del Lago and forget the usual hotels. You’ll be glad you did.

The lake smelled so horrible that it’s the only reason I didn’t give this place five stars. If it were anywhere else, I’d have given it a 5+5 rating. I rented the hot tub room for $109 a night. It was very clean and tidy, the management team was wonderful, and you definitely get your money’s worth.

The cottages are nice and roomy, with a fridge, microwave, and so on. The owners are amazing, kind, helpful, accommodating, and understanding.
