Beachview Suites

For a budget stay, the location was handy, near a small grocery store, the beach, the port, and attractions. The breakfast was decent for a basic hotel, with fresh bagels and name-brand cereal. Nothing fancy, but appreciated. The pizza place across the street was the real highlight. Our dated room faced the road, so traffic and music from the bar across the street were noisy. It got quiet around 10 and stayed that way through the morning. The curtain wouldn’t close properly because it was broken, though a bag clip I had fixed that. Sink pressure was barely a trickle, but the shower was lovely and hot. Rooms facing the pool might be quieter. The pool was disappointing. It was supposed to be open from 7 to 7, but seemed to close around 6:30, and it was shut altogether for our last couple of days. The deck has a great view, though the laughing gulls treating it like a rookery were annoying. Longer pool hours would help a lot.

My mom and I stayed six nights. The room was clean, with good showers and hot water, and a pretty view. It felt a bit dated, more like a beach motel, but we had a great stay. The staff were great, and breakfast was enough, with some snacks we could take to the beach. We mostly woke up, went straight to the beach, came back to shower, and then slept, so the room was plenty for a good vacation.

The location was good and the staff were nice, but I wouldn’t pay $150 a night again. There was no hot water, even after they moved me to another room. The faucets smelled awful, plugs kept falling out of the outlets, the furniture was outdated, and it was very loud. The ice machines hardly worked.

The location is the only real plus, right in the middle of everything on the strip with a good ocean view. For the room quality, the prices are high. We had to take our own dirty towels down and fetch clean ones, even though the stay was expensive. Some TVs didn’t connect to cable, and the rooms weren’t consistent despite what the front desk said. We moved three times: first the door didn’t work, then the room was small with a bubbled floor, and the third was the best of them. The elevator moved in slow motion and was annoying. The pool was freezing with no heater, and the poolside Tiki bar was closed, so there was no bar service or music. The beds were so uncomfortable that everyone woke up with severe back pain. Apart from the location, there isn’t much good to say. Next year we’re aiming for somewhere nicer. This place is pitiful.
