Gulf Beach Inn

Our room was spacious and a very short walk from the beach, the only positives we can offer. We checked in at 8 p.m. to an old motel room that was dirty, had no trash can, and only one set of towels. Front desk staff said it would be handled the next day, but we went two more days without cleaning before pushing them. We heard two explanations: they had no key to our room, or we had already checked out and didn’t need service. Every drain was clogged, and the tub took over an hour to empty after a shower. One front desk person, “IzMarie,” was extremely rude. Each time we went to the desk, she was on personal calls and wouldn’t help until she finished. She called us names, screamed profanities, accused us of smoking even though we don’t smoke, and said she’d charge whatever she wanted to our card. She refused to speak in English and caused such a scene that we had to call the police on our third day. There didn’t seem to be any management, and they didn’t care about customers. Discover Card was our only saving grace, stopping fraudulent charges. We were charged a $5.00 daily “resort fee,” which we were told covered parking and room cleaning. Spend a little more and stay somewhere else.
