Clemson University's James F. Martin Inn

Our room was fine overall, but the coffee maker was broken. I asked each day of our four-day stay for it to be replaced, and it never happened. After we got home I spoke with management, who were understanding and gracious about how much that first morning coffee matters. They offered a reasonable solution, which I appreciated. We really liked the Clemson Martin Inn. It's comfortable, clean, and in a lovely setting. Solé on the Green was fantastic too, with delicious food, excellent service, and a nice outdoor view while we ate. We'd come back, hopefully to a working coffee pot next time.

The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Ethan, and everything from the rooms to the lobby was very clean. We had a two-room suite with our grandchildren, plenty of space for all of us, plus a couch and two TVs. The kitchenette had a microwave, sink, and mini-fridge. They provided two rollaway beds at no extra charge. The pool and hot tub were very nice, and we'd happily stay here again.

Carson and Ethan at the front desk made us feel welcome and were very accommodating. This was visit number two for us, and I'd definitely recommend the place to anyone staying nearby.

The outdoor space is a big draw, with a golf course on site, water views, places to sit, and a few paths to walk. The pool looked very nice, but it was too cold to use during my stay. Clemson University and downtown are close. I found the 20-30 minute walk manageable, though it depends on whether you mind walking. I was here for an event, so luckily I didn't have to worry about the cost. The rooms were clean, and towels and bedding were changed daily without any trouble, which I'd expect at this level. Parents and alumni visiting could find this hotel worthwhile.
