Hampton Inn Clemson-University Area

I've stayed here a few times and sleep well every time. It's one of three places in the area I like, depending on which one fits my company's rates on hotel engine. I only just realized I hadn't left a review. The breakfast is always good, and the staff are friendly and relaxed. I also like the room decor, especially the desk and the cool blinds.

We've come back several times over the past few months for work nearby. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and Melissa keeps breakfast well stocked with plenty of choices. She also makes the place feel clean, warm, and welcoming. The hotel is older, but it's still clean and good quality. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, and walking by the lake is beautiful. My one complaint is the room seating. Without paying more for a suite with a couch, it's just the bed or an office chair. They used to have a regular chair, and bringing it back would make this an ideal place to stay and improve my review.

Shaquille and Joy stood out during my stay this past week. They were attentive and an absolute delight. Everyone on staff was hospitable and kind, and the service went well beyond what I've experienced at other Hampton locations.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with warm scrambled eggs, yogurt, granola, cereal, bread, lemon poppyseed scones, and two kinds of waffles. The room was spacious, the hotel was generally clean, and the service was good. It's also a convenient spot near the university.
