The office smelled awful, which should have been a warning. Cleaning was terrible, and there weren’t any shelves in the fridge. The staff were the worst, rude, and the owners apparently let the maids’ children play outside with bikes and balls. We were told that because their parents work there, they could do whatever they wanted. The parking lot was mostly empty, but my toddlers weren’t even allowed to ride their bikes. They kept telling us to keep the kids right in front of our room, at the door. They couldn’t even play in the rain. They wouldn’t let my kids be kids. The pool only opened one afternoon, and then they wouldn’t let us use it because my three-year-old was running. We told him to use his walking feet, and he did.
At Knights Inn Cleveland, check-in was smooth and easy, thanks to the welcoming, friendly staff. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, just right for a relaxing night. It’s convenient and good value for the price. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back next time I’m in Cleveland. Highly recommend it.
We got a refund for just one of the two nights, which meant paying $85 for less than 30 minutes on the property, a dirty room advertised as clean, a sink that didn’t work, and awful customer service. I booked for Father’s Day weekend, and the guy initially gave us his name as Mike, though when I asked Priceline for a refund, they told me Sam. He was very rude to my fiancé. The room was filthy. There was a painting ripped off the wall, the toilet was dirty, and the sink wouldn’t drain. All he offered was to have housekeeping look at it or move us to a non-smoking room for extra fees. He said he “doesn’t care about what we found in the room, if we want to leave then leave.” After reading reviews and replies, I think the Knight Inns Google replier is delusional and avoids accountability. We went to a local restaurant afterward, and were told this hotel is notorious in town for being the most disgusting and a big scam. Don’t stay here. If I could leave zero stars, I would.
I work in hospitality and know older properties can have their quirks, so I’m usually forgiving, but this stay was rough. I only needed somewhere to crash for a few hours, so I stuck it out. The room was noticeably dirty and rundown. Baseboards were literally falling off the walls, the sink had no way to pull up the stopper, and just one light worked. The sheets were disgusting. I slept on top of the comforter, which probably wasn’t washed, because it seemed better than the sheets. At least I didn’t see any roaches. Outside was a whole other problem. Some very sketchy people were hanging around, yelling and looking into cars. One man somehow knew what was in my trunk. He would have had to look extremely closely even to see where it was, which was deeply unsettling. The place needs serious attention to maintenance and safety. I wouldn’t return or recommend it, even for a quick stop.
The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean with soft beds. Great location too. I’ll definitely stay again!
