The Glidden House

The continental breakfast was generous and really good, and the beds were comfy. We drove four hours to see the Brandon Lake concert and were glad we stayed here. Rose handled check-in with a warm, knowledgeable, and professional manner. Roger from maintenance was welcoming and helpful, and Tyrell in the breakfast area was thoughtful and courteous. Whoever hires and trains the staff has done a great job.

I love shooting weddings at Glidden House. The grounds are lovely, with Wade Oval all around and so many spots for photos. The hotel has loads of charm and character, and the staff are always a joy to work with. I highly recommend it.

It’s easy for couples and guests to settle in when everything for the day can happen onsite, instead of traveling between locations. Glidden House is also very convenient in University Circle. The exterior and grounds look especially beautiful in photos during fall. At one wedding I documented there, the leaves were changing and the lawn colors were spectacular. I like how the place feels practical and personal, with elegance that isn’t overdone. It’s a lovely fit for couples who care about art, history, and connection. I hope I get to return soon.

The room was comfortable and clean, and we didn’t hear other guests. I liked the breakfast room’s view and cozy fireplace. Breakfast was pretty good, though I’d have rather had a pitcher of half-and-half than the little plastic creamer pods. One issue: the blinds let light in through their gaps, so the room wasn’t dark enough. Curtains that actually close, instead of decorative ones, would solve that.
