Best Western Clifton Park

I've stayed here several times for work, and the staff have always been helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, there's lots of parking for different kinds of vehicles, and they have a hot tub, with a jacuzzi in most rooms. My room did have a slight smoky smell, though. Still, a pleasant stay.

We arrived after booking, but the rooms were so filthy that we decided not to stay. The bed wasn't made, there were no towels, and the toilet was dirty. We tried another room and found the same kind of mess. I've never seen a Best Western in such bad shape. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

My sister's sheet had blood on it, and I found bed bugs in Room 143. I showed one to the GM, Robert, who said he'd contact Pest Control and call me. He never followed up after telling me that on Sept. 3, 2025. Corporate also never answered my email. I'm asking Best Western for my money back and being ignored, so I've contacted the BBB and the Health Dept. They said they'll look into it. A Fire Inspector told me the hotel had become a "Transient Hotel" and said they wouldn't recommend it to family or friends. I agree, and I'm very skeptical about ever staying at another Best Western.

The room was clean, the hotel was quiet inside, and there was a restaurant on the premises. But we didn't feel welcome, even though we've been BW members for about a decade. We had booked one night on the way from Toronto to Connecticut. At breakfast the next morning, we were the only guests, and the parking lot was as empty as it had been the day before. We were put on the second floor and told there was no elevator, just one flight of steep stairs. At 65 and 70, with two 50-pound suitcases and other bags, that was a lot to carry. The young man at the desk didn't seem to care. We went up without our luggage to check the room, but opening the sliding door let in a lot of highway noise, and it was loud even with the door shut. We asked for a ground-floor room away from the highway. The receptionist said all the rooms faced the highway and none were available. Another man who worked at the hotel said there was a ground-floor room facing the parking lot, so we took it.
