After a six-hour drive, we arrived for a stay booked through Expedia only to have the manager be extremely rude and try to charge me another $85. She said, “you don’t pay though Expedia you pay at the desk,” even though I'd already paid. I left after a lot of angry remarks and ranting, had to find a new motel on the spot, and ended up paying more. When I tried to cancel, the establishment said they'd charge a fee, though neither Expedia nor their website had said anything about one. Horrible place. I wouldn't stay here again.

The Lamplighter Motel is in a convenient spot in the charming town of Clinton, Connecticut, and offered great value for the price. My family and I stayed one night on Friday, October 20, 2023. Though it's an older motel, it was well maintained, clean, and comfortable. The room was small but cozy and well kept. Staff were friendly, and check-in and check-out were quick. Parking was easy too. We'd highly recommend it for its comfort, location, and affordability.

It's a budget motel that could use some TLC. My room had hair that wasn't mine and a few spiders in the shower, so it could've been cleaned better. The woman at the counter was really nice to me, though.

The staff were very kind, and the place was clean enough. The bedding and floors were clean, though the headboard and shower curtain weren't. This is a small, simple budget stay, not a resort or somewhere to spend lots of time in your room. There's an amazing restaurant across the street, and we'd absolutely come back.

I got to the room and needed to take care of personal business. When I flushed, the toilet nearly overflowed, and my latest creation almost came back up onto me and the floor. I tried to bring it up kindly at the desk, but the woman said, “you no flush too much! Not okay to stuff toilet.” Then she pointed to a plunger and told me to handle it myself. At that point I was thinking, great, I've just slept with it, now what? Shock and awe in the latest adventure of Don. Somehow I thought the owner considered me an okay guy. How wrong could I be? I've been tortured.
