Relax Inn

The relief of getting to the nearby hotel we booked after leaving was overwhelming. I was traveling cross-country alone with my two kids, and after only a couple of hours here I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. A cockroach in the bathroom and a loose dog repeatedly running around my car and room while I reloaded our things didn't help. By 8 pm, before dark, I knew I didn't want to spend the night there with my children. The front desk employee was kind, and I truly hate leaving a negative review because of that. I tried to tell myself I was just anxious from traveling alone, but I couldn't shake the feeling. Of all our stops, this was the only place that made me feel this way. Staff at the other hotel told me locals generally avoid this one because it's known for long-term stays, homelessness, and drug activity. I didn't witness drug activity myself, but I felt uneasy the whole time. I had to trust my instincts for my children's and my own safety and comfort.
