Landmark Motel

We’ve made the Landmark our yearly stop for the 4th of July family reunion for years, and we can’t wait to return next year. It’s dog friendly, which is a big plus for our family, and we’ve always felt safe and welcomed. The rooms are clean, the town is charming, and this is a simple motel rather than a fancy one. The owners are such a friendly, sweet couple, always ready to make things comfortable. We’ve enjoyed running into them and getting their suggestions for dinner and fireworks shows. The lobby is a nice place to hang out, and you can sit outside and visit too. Breakfast is fresh donuts, toast, and fruit each morning. The old fashioned room keys are nostalgic, and my daughter asked me to mention the wobbly bridge at the park across the street and the fun new pool the town built last year. We love Clintonville and the Landmark Motel. I’ve seen reviews mention hot rooms, but ours stayed comfortably at 67 for all three nights, and we could control the temperature.

Coming from Chicago, I really appreciated how quiet it was. The rooms are large and accommodating, and the service was nice. There’s a lake and park within walking distance, and the location reaches into the start of downtown.

The owner got us a room without any trouble while my SO, our 9 month old, and I waited a couple of nights to move into our new home. They’re pet friendly too, which is awesome, and management and staff treated all of us, including our pup, like we were at home. The motel was very clean and quiet, and someone was always close by to help when we needed it. I’d recommend it to anyone asking.

I had plenty of hot water for showers, and the room and sheets were clean. Everyone provided great service, and the gentleman who checked me in was friendly and welcoming.
