Days Inn by Wyndham Cocoa Cruiseport West At I-95/524

We asked to see the room before checking in because of the earlier reviews. We didn’t realize they’d already charged us before we arrived, so we’d paid whether we wanted it or not. Thankfully, the rooms were very clean, smelled clean, and had no bugs or roaches. We pulled the beds away from the wall and could see the building was very old and definitely needs updating. The tub needs redoing, really the whole building does, but we didn’t see any creepy crawlies. C's Waffles is attached to the motel and looked great when we checked in. We’re going there tonight, so we’ll see.

I was doubtful after reading some reviews, but this little gem turned out well. The room was clean and looked like the pictures. The pool was broken, though that didn’t affect our stay since it’s been too chilly to use it. The staff were super helpful, and C's Waffles, the restaurant on site, has awesome food and servers. It’s a great value, close to the cruise ports, and I’d definitely come again and recommend it.

The prices are great for the area, and I love arriving to find Sally and Tonya at the front desk. They’re amazing, accommodating, and understanding. It means a lot to stay somewhere where people listen and are willing to solve whatever problems they can. It’s a great experience for me. Keep it up, ladies.

On Friday, January 9th, I used my Wyndham Points to book Room 138 at the Days Inn by Wyndham Cocoa Cruiseport West At I-95/524. We arrived early to have an easy day before leaving on a cruise from Port Canaveral. We’d stayed once before, and knew the property gets plenty of guest turnover thanks to the cruise business, so our expectations weren’t very high. Even so, the room was nasty. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine, and my wife wiped a stained patch off the tub and floor. I then looked around more closely and took a video to document what I saw. The mattress was old, with a piece of rusty metal sticking out, and the box spring was torn. The dirt and peeling paint on the wall behind the bed also suggested poor housekeeping. I expected some quality checks and replacement of worn bed components over time. I returned the key at the front desk. The clerk said no housekeeper was available to fix the room, but offered another one. After what we’d seen, we didn’t trust the housekeeping and declined, then found another, much more accommodating Wyndham nearby. I emailed the Days Inn manager, using the address the front desk clerk gave me, to ask for my points back, but never got a response.
