Holiday Inn Express & Suites Huntsville Airport by IHG

The indoor pool water was cooler than I expected, so my hoped-for relaxing swim felt more like a wake-up call. I mentioned a couple of suggestions to the front desk and hope they’ll consider them. Aside from that, my first stay at the Holiday Inn in Madison County was pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and getting to the hotel was easy. I’ve put it on my list to return, and I’m curious to see what improvements they make. Next time I might bring a wetsuit as well as floaties!

It’s hard to understand why this place is only rated three stars. The breakfast has lots of choices and all the bells and whistles, and after a long day there are free cookies and fresh hot coffee available around the clock. The lobby employees were so sweet and nice as soon as I walked in. My room was clean, with no smoke smell, and I appreciated that smoking isn’t allowed. There’s also a pool and workout area. I’ve paid more at other places and gotten a lot less. This hotel is one of Madison/Airport’s best kept secrets. I love it.

For the price, it’s a decent place and I’d stay again. The front desk service was great, and being right by Waffle House worked well for me. Cleaning was okay, though it could have been better. They serviced my room once, the day after I checked in, and not again after that. Maybe I missed a schedule or needed to ask for it specifically. I usually don’t have to, so that was a drawback.

My husband and I were driving home to Pittsburgh after delivering a puppy, and this was one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very nice and spoke to us so kindly. We were thrilled to stay here.
