Yellowstone Cutthroat Guest Ranch

The restaurant was hard to find, even though I expected that, and it was one of very few dinner options for me. I only ate there, I didn't stay at the ranch. The interior had knotty pine walls, a mounted moose head, a bear skin on one wall, and a fireplace. My waitress was very attentive. I ordered the bourbon fried chicken sandwich, a huge fried breast with bourbon sauce and fries. It was wonderful. The meal was pricey, but there was live entertainment on the deck.

We spent three nights in the large cabin and another night in the smaller one. Both were very clean and nice, with spectacular views. We had brought plenty of food, so we cooked in the cabins and didn't get to try the restaurant, which we'd really wanted to do. The owners were polite, helpful, and easy to reach. We'd happily return and highly recommend the place.

After a day in Yellowstone, we arrived at the “ranch” around 7:30 pm for our planned stay on 6/30 with friends. There were no cars, staff, or anyone else, and a for-sale sign was the first thing we saw. The doors were locked and the main office was closed. We hadn't received any check-in instructions, and calls to the booking contact went unanswered. We later found out the ranch had been closed and for sale for more than six months. Luckily, a hotel in nearby Cody had rooms, so we had to find a place there instead. This person is a scammer!

We were vacationing from Wisconsin and people told us to try the Cutthroat Guest Ranch Restaurant. They were so right. Five of us had incredible food at a great price, with amazing service and very reasonably priced drinks. I'll recommend it to anyone I know traveling near Yellowstone. We didn't stay here, but I can only imagine the lodging would be great too.
