Yellowstone Valley Inn

Our travel trailer site had full hookups and was nicely graded, with a picnic table and fire pit. In the afternoon we relaxed at the chairs and table beside the river, a great place to unwind after a day in Yellowstone. The staff were really great as well. We'll absolutely be back next time we're in Yellowstone.

The restaurant was delicious, and on certain mornings the free coffee bar and donuts were a nice treat. We didn't get to use the gym, pool, or hot tub, though they looked great. There are full-service RV sites, bathrooms, and laundry. The location is beautiful, with a great view and a straight 30-mile drive to Yellowstone's east entrance. We'd definitely stay again.

We stayed in a riverfront room and waking up to the Shoshone River was so peaceful. The setting has gorgeous mountain views all around, and the pool had just opened for the season, making it a nice place to relax after exploring. Our room was spotless, cozy, and well stocked, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout. The restaurant and bar made evenings easy, with tasty food, friendly service, and good drinks. We also caught some live local music, which added to the relaxed Wyoming feel. Yellowstone's East Gate is a scenic short drive away, and Cody is close for more exploring. Yellowstone Valley Inn exceeded our expectations. We'd happily return, whether for a quick stop or a longer stay.

The decorative blue pillowcases were dirty and a bit sticky, and I don't think the room was worth $230 a night. We would have been better off in Cody at a Hampton Inn or another decent hotel for less money and better quality. The people seemed nice, but the price just wasn't worth it. To be fair, this might be a better option for camping or RV stays. I was quoted $230 per night, then charged over $285 for one night, including taxes. When I called the day after booking because there was no confirmation email, the same man said the room cost $235, though the day before he'd quoted $230. I should have canceled then. We paid $546.35 for two nights. The person who booked us never mentioned the nearly $10 credit card fee, $15 room reservation charge, or another fee for the gym and an extra amenity. If we weren't going to use those amenities, we shouldn't have been charged. I wasn't told about these charges upfront, and I even told the person who helped book that I disliked extra fees. I may have the amounts mixed up, but I was never told about them.
