Motel 6 Coeur D'Alene, ID

The hot water was my one complaint. It seemed to take forever to arrive, like it had to travel five miles. Turn it on and wait 15 minutes, haha. We stayed from February 24 to the morning of the 25th, 2026, and this was one of the nicer Motel 6 places we've stayed in. Thanks for the upgrades. I didn't get the names of either of the two ladies, but they were both very kind. The woman who checked us in fixed our reservation after a third-party booking site had put us in a handicapped room without us realizing it. I hope this helps the employees get the recognition they deserve.

It's a decent place for the price, fairly clean, and I've had no trouble during my stays. The service and rooms have been alright so far, and it works for what I can afford. I'd rather stay here than be out in the elements. Dogs are welcome, though my dogs have a home and only come along to visit, so I haven't brought them here. Just don't expect anything bougie. There aren't many rooms with a tub, and a lot of rooms don't have a fridge or microwave. We asked for one but kept getting rooms without it. I'd like to be able to keep food, and I like having a tub, but neither is a deal breaker. The price is alright, and it's a place to stay that works.

After more than 40 minutes here, no other employee has shown up. I've also seen customers with dogs, but there are no signs or designated pet areas. Don't bring your animals here. Sitting in the lot, I understand the reviews mentioning “questionable people.” As a young, well-kept woman, I don't feel safe here. The doors are locked. My car broke down in their mostly empty parking lot at 6:05 p.m. I'd just brought food to one of their residents. It was dark, cold, and raining. The only way my car would move was in reverse, so I frantically backed into an empty spot while trying to reach a mechanic. Less than five minutes later, Letty came to my door and asked for my room number. I told him I wasn't staying there and that my car had broken down. He pointed out that the four empty spots in front of the door, including the one I was in, were for employees, and said I couldn't park there. So I limped my car over to another spot. I went to ask his name and introduce myself. He was literally the only employee on site. I explained again that my car had broken down, which was why I'd used one of his many empty employee spots. His only concern was, “how long will you be there?” as if I were trying to camp out in the lot. Even if I had to book a room, there was no way I was giving this sorry excuse for a man my business. I assured him I wasn't there willingly, was trying to get help, and hoped he'd wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow. See you again never, Letty. 👎

The bedsheets, pillows, comforter, and floor were covered in dog hair. We switched rooms after staff said they had no clean bedding to give us and their machine was broken. The replacement room still had dog hair, just not as much. The floors were dirty enough that I put shoes on to go to the bathroom. There was no fridge, microwave, or coffee maker, and I noticed water stains under the TV stand.
