I came for the CDA marathon without a car, and the Greenbriar worked perfectly since restaurants, parks, and the lake were all easy to reach on foot. Mike and Rae were attentive whenever a problem or concern came up. The inn felt cozy and personal, more like a home than a chain hotel. It’s an older historic building with wood floors, so there can be more noise than at a typical hotel, but that’s to be expected. Ear plugs were available, though I personally had no noise problems. I’d happily stay again for that quaint, local experience.

We loved our stay. The whole house and our rooms were clean and thoughtfully put together, and manager Mike communicated and served us extremely well. 315 is close by on foot, with great food and very nice staff. Downtown is also an easy walk from the house.

The rooms are quaint and lovely, with character you don’t get in a chain hotel. Greenbriar is a wonderful old property with an interesting past: it was once a convent, then a brothel. Be sure to eat at their restaurant, the '315 Cuisine'. The food is delicious, and mentioning you’re staying there gets you a nice discount. Visit during a winter weekday and you might have the whole house to yourself. Enjoy!

The dinner and drinks at 315 Cafe were fantastic, and Kelley and the whole crew made us feel welcome. We were visiting CDA for the first time and picked Greenbriar Inn from the many places open in the offseason. Mike was quick to help arrange an early check-in and pointed us to Room 3. It was spotless, and the bed was comfortable. Don’t miss dessert.

The old house is charming and well kept, and I can see it being just right for some guests. It felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel, though, with little signage and no dedicated person at check-in. Someone from the restaurant handled it but didn’t seem sure what to do. The walls are very thin, and while earplugs are provided, the mattresses really need replacing. There’s no historic value in an old mattress. If you’re not in a leisurely mood, this may not suit you.
