One Lakeside

For a four-star hotel, I'd expect a 24/7 front desk. One Lakeside doesn't have that, and even its stated 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. hours weren't followed. Its website says guests can check in only during those hours. I arrived at 10:30 p.m., but the lobby was locked and the desk was unattended, so I couldn't check in for my first night and had to book another place. From 10:30 to 11, I saw no one at the desk. That's what I observed. What would One Lakeside say? The next day, Erica at the front desk told me the desk was only fully staffed until 6 or 7 p.m., at least in October 2025. After that, staffing was partial, and the receptionist might be working elsewhere in the building, with an expectation they'd periodically return to the desk for new guests. Erica also said that if a guest hadn't checked in by around 10 p.m., they put the keys in a lockbox and sent the access codes by email, text, or phone. My travel agency hadn't passed my email or phone number to One Lakeside. The hotel knew my contact information was missing, so they knew I couldn't use the lockbox process. Even so, the desk attendant didn't staff the desk at all between 10:30 and 11 p.m. I can only speak for that time, though it may have happened earlier too. I did get the first night refunded, but that hardly made up for having to find another hotel at the last minute and Uber back and forth. My car was stuck in the One Lakeside garage, and I couldn't reopen the garage door without the access key fob while the desk was unattended. I could understand an early closing at a two-star inn or motel in the middle of nowhere, with guests expected to call if arriving late. For a four-star hotel, this kind of sloppiness is a reminder to be careful with hotels of any rating that aren't part of established chains like Hilton/Marriott/IHG.

I'm so glad I came across this gem. It's beautiful and luxurious, far beyond just a nice hotel. Erica, the manager at one lakeside, always checks in and makes sure we feel at home. Her service is top notch, and I'll be staying here from now on.

The lake at sunset was a gorgeous view, and our room was spacious and lovely. We came for a family get-together, and Erica at the front desk made the day easier from the moment she greeted us with a warm smile. She handled every request we threw her way with so much patience and professionalism. I'd recommend this place for a getaway of any kind.

The view of Coeur d'Alene lake was beautiful, and our room was spotless, nicely made up, and so pretty we almost didn't want to disturb the bed. Erica made a big difference for our family, making sure we had what we needed and were happy. Check-in was fast and polite, with a smile as soon as we entered the lobby, and she clearly explained where our room and the amenities were. We'll stay here whenever we're in the area. Ten out of ten for the whole place.
