Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham College Station

On 12/27, at about 11 am, Bailey came into my room without notice even though the do not disturb sign was on the door and checkout wasn’t until noon. I was in the restroom and had to chase her out. When I confronted her at checkout, she confirmed it was her. I’d heard the room phone ring while I was in there, ignored it, then heard it ring again. I thought it might be family, but they were on the second floor and would call my cell. I’ve never been treated this way at another hotel, and I won’t come back. I also felt the response to my complaint was defensive and didn’t include an apology. Please check the hotel cameras so this doesn’t happen to another guest. Breakfast was disappointing: reheated microwave food in a warmer, juice but no water, no fresh fruit and few choices. The pool was dirty, though the front desk said it was open, and it was warm, not 48° as mentioned below. The front sitting area felt unwelcoming, with the seats pushed too close together.

We found live bed bugs and blood spots on the bedding on Saturday February 21, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., after my wife and I had been bitten several times each night during our stay. We hadn’t known what was causing the bites until we saw the bugs and noticed the physical symptoms. I’ve never had this happen before, and we’re worried the bugs might have gotten into our belongings since we didn’t find them until Saturday night. Management knew the room had bed bugs and offered one free night as compensation. I didn’t know what else to do, so I called the police. They told me to report it to the health department, which I planned to do first thing the next morning. They said we could stay until our paid departure time if we wanted, but we left right away. The managers seemed most concerned that I’d tell other guests, so I told five people in the lobby because they deserved to know. This is the first negative review I’ve ever left, but this place deserves it.

The room was spacious and quiet, and the bed and pillows were fine. But there was hair in the shower and a long black hair on the sheet, so I went to the front desk. The woman there apologized repeatedly, took pictures and replaced all the bedding right away. She said a stain on the sheet was from bleach. The front desk service was impeccable, but housekeeping needs to do better. I wasn’t expecting a five star hotel, just a clean room.

The listing for the room we chose said it had a roll-in shower for my husband, who is an amputee. The manager said there aren’t any roll-in showers anywhere in the hotel, so that was seriously misleading. Water pressure was terrible, and the accessible room needs more lighting. I also wasn’t acknowledged as a member, despite using points and my Wyndham CC for incidentals.
