The George, by Valencia Hotel Collection

Jizelle at the front desk made my first stay at the George Hotel amazing. She welcomed me with a smile whenever I came downstairs, asked how I was doing, and even offered complimentary water, whether I was headed to the bar or relaxing by the pool. That kind of genuine kindness is rare. When I arrived a couple of weeks ago, she also went over everything I needed to know about parking, WiFi, bar hours, and room service. She was friendly, helpful, and made me feel right at home. I'll definitely return to the George Hotel. I'd give the experience 15/10 if I could. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Taylor and her team deserve a special thank you. Their care for guests and attention to detail really make The George stand out. We recently came back for a special weekend getaway, and the hotel was just as welcoming, well run, and consistently friendly and helpful as ever. It captures the spirit of Aggieland so well. We've stayed at The George in College Station many times while visiting Texas A&M. Last year we booked a block of rooms there for our son's wedding, and the staff went above and beyond for our family and friends. I realized I never left the review they deserved. We’ll definitely be back, and I recommend The George to anyone visiting College Station for its warm hospitality, great atmosphere, and helpful team.

The rooms were filthy. There were nail clippings on the floors, hair and dirt on the supposedly fresh sheets, and stains on the pillows and chairs. It was gross. We also found mold in our room, apparently from a shower that had been leaking for some time. When I mentioned it at checkout, the front staff didn't seem as concerned as I expected. We were there on a very busy weekend and there were hardly any staff available. Phone access to both the front desk and housekeeping had been cut off, so we spent 45 minutes looking for someone just to get a towel. This was one of the worst hotel stays I've had in a long time. We were very disappointed.

The artificial sheep scattered around the hotel were a memorable touch. They move now and then and add a quirky, fun bit of charm. There was some renovation noise during my stay, but it was a minor inconvenience, and the staff handled it gracefully. It wouldn't stop me from coming back. The front desk staff made check-in and checkout easy with their warmth and professionalism. I also enjoyed the relaxed, stylish bar and its impressive cocktail menu. Try the Oaxaca Old Fashioned, it was perfectly balanced and one of the best hotel bar cocktails I've had. The George Hotel in College Station was excellent from start to finish, with real care put into the atmosphere and guest experience. I'd stay again and recommend it.
