Courtyard Mobile

The person who checked us in was professional, efficient, and personable. We only stayed one night while passing through Alabama, and the room was adequately clean, no more than that. It looked very worn and hadn’t been updated recently. The bathroom sink counter had been repaired badly, and the deadbolt didn’t work right, though there was an intrusion plate we could use. Road noise was very loud in the room. I wouldn’t recommend staying here or come back. The recent reviews surprised me because they didn’t match my experience.

India helped us both times we stayed, and even suggested places to eat around town. She’s why we came back for a second stay, and she’ll probably be why we choose this hotel whenever we visit family in Mobile. Thanks, India, for making our stay comfortable. Hope to see you again next time!

The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the property was clean, laid back, and efficient. It’s in a handy but busy spot near downtown businesses, though there’s currently no bar. The room was clean but a little disappointing and needed a makeover. The wallpaper was peeling, it felt used and tired, and the deadbolt didn’t work. I like the Courtyard in Daphne a bit better.

I finally got a working key to the room I’d slept in the night before, after the front desk had checked me out and given the room to someone else. Luckily, the person from my unit hadn’t arrived yet. I waited fifteen minutes while the woman kept trying to put me back into the room where my belongings already were. I was getting frustrated, especially when she mispronounced both my first and last name and asked whether the room might be under another name. This started after I returned late Saturday, exhausted and ready to sleep, and found my key wouldn’t work. On Friday afternoon, the desk hadn’t been able to find my name on the list from my unit and eventually gave me a key to a room on the third floor. I’ll never stay here again. Next time I’ll pay out of pocket and recommend that our unit use another hotel.
