Homewood Suites by Hilton Mobile Airport-University Area

The rooms are spacious, though the decor feels dated. We arrived early, and the front desk let us leave our bags in a storage room until the rooms were ready. The hotel is ideal for the airport, just 10-15 min away, but there aren't many restaurants within walking distance. We left before breakfast was ready, so I can't comment on it, though the breakfast staff were super nice and friendly while we waited for our ride. The common areas look like they have some water damage and need repairs. There should also be an extra blanket in the room. Otherwise, it's a nice hotel.

I travel for work and stay at Hilton properties without exception, usually 10-12 nights a month. I like the rewards program and how easy the app makes booking and checking in and out. I've never had an issue, so this was my first review, but what happened hit a nerve. I may check out a day early and go across the street to the Hampton Inn. When I return to Mobile in a few months, I won't stay here. Until last night, the stay had been nice and uneventful. I went to the food pantry for a late snack and asked to put it on my room, as I've done hundreds of times at other Hilton properties. I gave my room number and confirmed my last name. The employee asked for a card for incidentals, even though my card was on file. I told her I'd stayed over 90 nights last year and had never been asked, and that as a Diamond member I get a snack and water each day. She replied, "but you're not a lifetime Diamond member!" I didn't see what that had to do with it, got aggravated and gave up. So I went to a store at 11pm for the snacks I should have been able to get in the lobby. When I asked her name on the way out, I couldn't hear it and asked again. She said they'd know who she was. In the morning, another front desk employee confirmed my card was on file for incidentals, didn't know why she'd said that, and was very nice and apologetic.

I've only seen one room so far, but it's spacious, clean and has nice amenities. I'll try to come back and list some after I've used them! The dining area is one of the nicer ones I've seen. If you need an extended stay in the Mobile area, definitely check this place out. My photos show it already lived in 😊. The pool looks pretty, but it was too cold to use. There's a nice little exercise room, which I have not used 🤪, and a couple of washers and dryers, handy if you need them.

We were happy with the price and pleasantly surprised by how nice our stay was. The room had plenty of space for our family with kids. It needs some updating, but it was clean and suited our needs. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful, and breakfast had a good selection. Things were relatively quiet around the hotel, and Shiso restaurant next door was an easy walk for dinner. Despite the reviews I'd read before booking, we'd definitely stay again.
