Best Western Executive Inn & Suites

The bed was wonderful, but the plumbing made the stay miserable. I checked in around 10 PM, then heard the toilet burp soon after lying down. At about 3:30 in the morning it overflowed. The room phone wouldn't connect to the front desk, so I called on my cell; the night worker promptly brought a plunger. Later I had to use the common area restroom, and when I tried to shower, that backed up too. Breakfast wasn't good either, the scrambled eggs tasted like fish. I asked the front desk for a partial refund, but they offered only 10%. I felt the refund should have been higher.

The staff were nice and the bed was comfortable, once I could stop thinking about the hair in it. There was also hair in the shower before we used it, the floor felt sticky, and the bathroom looked like it might have mold. Breakfast was awful, the pancakes tasted sour, maybe they used expired milk. While we waited to check in, the people ahead of us were charged $30 a night for two nights, but we paid nearly $90 for one. Drop “best” from the name and leave “western.” I won't stay at a “best” western again after spending $90 on this.

We were only there for one night, but all three of us came away impressed. The staff were helpful, the breakfast spread was generous, the pool was well maintained, and our room was very clean. For a 2-star hotel, it seems underrated. We felt we'd found a bargain.

The room was fine and the staff were friendly, but the after-hours access policy was frustrating. I took my dog out through a back door, walked around the side, then couldn't get my key card to work when I returned. After trying several times, I had to go around to the front. The desk clerk said the side doors lock at a certain time and guests have to enter through the front. When I asked if the security card wasn't meant to let us in after hours, she just said that's how it is. Pathetic. There also aren't any outlets for plugging in devices.
