Holiday Inn Colorado Springs - Airport

Manager Lynette was kind and accommodating, and I appreciated her courtesy. Housekeeping was helpful too. The room had everything I needed for one night: a cozy, comfortable bed and an A/C that wasn't too loud. I slept really well and woke up rested.

The staff were great and very friendly, and the room was nice with a really comfortable bed. Still, I was disappointed. The app and Google didn't say the restaurant had just closed, and I only found out about the lack of hot water after checking in. I saw almost no food available, just a few drinks in a fridge, coffee, and some apples and oranges. With no hot water and so little to eat, I felt I'd wasted my points on the one occasion I decided to use them.

The room was lovely and really clean, and the indoor pool and hot tub were both fine. Breakfast stood out too, better than average, with fresh food and clean surfaces. The attendants were superb. A really good stay.

We had non-refundable tickets for an event that night, and since it was New Year's Eve, other hotels were much more expensive. So when I learned there was no hot water, I asked for a discount or a transfer to the Holiday Inn Express down the street at the same rate, even though it was now $30 more. I called on check-in day with a question and was told the hot water problem had been going on for a while. It was supposedly fixed, but they were calling reservations to ask if people wanted to cancel. I was also told the hotel would close completely on the 1st. The front desk agent offered to cancel my reservation. I explained that wasn't an option for us, then got transferred to manager Lynette. She raised her voice right away and was rude and unprofessional. When I said so, she yelled that I could file a complaint if I wanted because the hotel was independently owned and not affiliated with any other Holiday Inn. She kept berating me, then canceled my reservation and hung up while still charging me. It was less than five hours before check-in, and they still hadn't called the other guests. I had to tell our friends there was no hot water so they could scramble for a last-minute plan. DO NOT STAY HERE, and avoid Lynette.
