Best Western Plus Columbia Inn

I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Columbia, MO during Thanksgiving week and would gladly come back. The whole hotel was clean, smelled nice, and seemed well cared for. My room was excellent and very comfortable, with no complaints. The gym was bigger and better equipped than I expected, though there weren't any cleaning supplies there. Breakfast each morning had plenty of options and was more than enough. There's a good amount of parking, mostly behind the hotel, but no entrance from that side. That wasn't a major issue. I had a really positive stay and highly recommend it.

We thought it was a great value and would stay again, despite a few quirks. Since we arrived around 11:30 p.m., the express check-in was handy: stop at the desk, show ID, and you're set. The inside was clean and well kept, and our King room had plenty of room to spread out. The bed had some spring to it but was still comfortable. We got two pillows per person, and they held their shape better than most hotel pillows. Bedding was light, just a sheet and small blanket, with a second blanket available that was only large enough for one person. The AC worked well, though 67°F felt very cold. The shower got extremely hot with even a small turn of the handle, so watch out. Bathroom was clean, but counter space was tight, and there was only a bar of soap, no liquid soap. Parking was tight, with many cars over the lines, probably worse because it was college move-in weekend and the lot had several small U-Hauls. There's no front parking, so everyone uses the back door by the pool. That door wasn't locked the night we were there, which might be worth addressing for security.

Megan, thank you for making our stay so lovely. Your calm, kind manner, even late at night, meant a lot. Breakfast and the coffee choices were perfect. Our room's cleanliness was a little off, though the rest of the hotel was spotless, so it was probably a fluke.

Breakfast was good, and I appreciated that the staff didn't water down the drinks. The heat worked, the tubs were nice enough for a bath, and the beds were comfortable, though I've seen worse. But I had to call several times to get my points, the pool was dirty, and my TV worked on only one of my three stays. The rooms also had a musty smell.
