TownePlace Suites Columbia

I had to travel unexpectedly while my brother was in the ICU, and TownePlace Suites made a hard time a little easier. Brittany at the front desk was kind, understanding, and so accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable, and her suggestion of a lovely nearby church meant a lot to me. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Columbia, MO for the excellent service and genuine hospitality.

I’m a gold Marriott member, and this booking turned into a mess. I thought I’d reserved a different property in Jefferson City through the app, but when I arrived in Jeff city I realized it was this hotel. They wouldn’t cancel or refund me, so I now have to dispute the charge with Marriott and my credit card company. They hadn’t charged my card yet, but hurried to do so when I asked. The front desk woman was rude. This place feels like a joke, and if loyal gold members with a Marriott card are treated this way, I’d hate to see how anyone else is treated.

We’ve stopped here three times while driving to Florida for the winter, and every stay has been great. The rooms are clean and really nice, the service is consistently amazing, and breakfast goes above and beyond. There’s also a good restaurant just across the parking lot.

The staff were pleasant, helpful, and quick to respond, and the location is okay, though nothing special. There aren’t any grocery stores within a 10-minute drive. It’s a new hotel with the amenities you’d expect, but someone with a careful eye should walk through and catch the things that aren’t right. My shower handle spun without turning on the water because its set screw had come loose. When I told the front desk, they said it was happening a lot. The bathroom sink’s hot and cold were reversed too, and one bedside light switch was upside down. Either the apprentice did this one, or someone needs to check the plumber’s Fitness for Duty. 🙄
