Super 8 Motel - Columbia

Room 104 had a strong mildew smell as soon as I entered, making it uncomfortable and seeming unsanitary. I reported it to the front desk, but Tiesha’s response was loud, dismissive, and confrontational. When I asked to speak with a manager or find out when one would be available, she raised her voice and said, “He won’t be here today.” She didn’t offer help or show any empathy. I’m disappointed by both the room condition and the unprofessional treatment. Front desk staff represent the business and should handle guest concerns courteously and respectfully. I won’t return, and I urge management to review the accommodations and staff conduct so other guests don’t have the same experience.

How is this place even open? My room had more bugs than I could count. The bathroom was filthy, the floor was wet, and someone’s soup was smeared all over the inside of the microwave. It costs a lot too, around $98 a night from what I understand, though I don’t know the exact amount.

The rooms were clean, and that was the only good part for us. We were told the rate was $58 a night, but at arrival the man charged us $93 and said that was the price. The room and hallway reeked of weed. All four accessible parking spaces were occupied by cars without permits. Since we have disabilities and parking passes, I had to threaten to call the police before they moved so we could use a suitable space. The whole experience was very unpleasant, and nobody was helpful. I won't stay here or at another Super8 again.

The bed was alright and the room was livable, but it was kind of gross. Even though it was marked non-smoking, it still smelled like cigarettes.
