Quality Inn Columbia I-65

Breakfast is a real plus: there's an all-you-can-eat spread with waffles from the traditional flip-over maker, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, cereal, bagels, toast, mini muffins, yogurt, and more. I ate so much I skipped lunch. Coffee is available in the lobby all day, and there's a coffee machine in the room too. I prefer the lobby coffee. There is staff on duty around the clock when you come in. If you arrive late and they're sitting by the cameras, just let them know you're there. Be courteous and smile, and they'll do the same. The beds were okay for me, though a little old and soft, so they're probably not for anyone who likes a firm bed. The mini fridge and microwave were handy. The towels and washcloths really need replacing: I only got one washcloth for a double bed during a three-day stay. I'd give it 3.5 out of 5.

The blonde woman managing the night shift should find work that doesn't involve dealing with people. I have never been treated with such disrespect by a front desk employee. She cursed at me, threw my money back in my face, and flipped me off. Maybe she was having a bad night, but she ruined my birthday. The hotel has probably lost money because of her, and I won't spend another dime at this Quality Inn or any other. Management should provide human relations training before leaving someone to run the front desk or the whole hotel alone.

There were bugs in the first room we checked into. My husband killed 15 in about 30 minutes, and the kids were scared. The front desk said the bugs were nationwide and there was nothing they could do, but gave us another room. I checked it before moving our things and found bugs there too. The employee said she'd spray it on Saturday, 10/25, but the kids didn't want to stay. I contacted booking.com to ask for a refund. They needed the hotel to confirm what happened, but Quality Inn didn't answer their calls or emails, so we had to stay. On Saturday, 10/25, I noticed a lot of mold on the shower curtain and told my husband to pack. Before leaving early that morning for our daughter's game, I reported the mold and bugs to the front desk again and asked for a full refund. After the game, at about 8:00 p.m., booking.com still hadn't heard back. A representative finally reached the hotel, but the front desk told them there was no problem with my room, apparently thinking I wasn't coming back because I'd said I was checking out. I asked why she'd said that, and she got defensive and said she wouldn't send booking.com anything about a refund. Then she called the police, and we were removed from the property. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The bugs were in every room we saw, there was mold on the shower curtain, and the front desk was very rude. I hate that I had to give it one star to submit a review.

The night lady was kind and helpful. She put my cooler of food in the kitchen freezer, which is the only reason I can feel okay giving this one star. I only had four hours to sleep before a big holiday trip, or I would have checked out and gone across the street. There was no security lock on the door, no desk chair, no fridge, no bathroom trash can, and no tissues. The old climate control unit had no temperature control and just spun loosely, and the bedside light flickered. The floor was filthy and sticky enough to stick to my boot. I was too grossed out to walk on it, so I wet a towel and used it as a path from the bed to the bathroom. Trust me, spend $20 more on another option.
