Comfort Inn & Suites Ft. Jackson Maingate

We left immediately. The room smelled strongly of marijuana, and the mattress had stains, burn marks, and holes. The sheets looked dingy and not freshly cleaned. I also saw roaches in the room and cats inside, which was shocking. The hotel's cleanliness and comfort were far below basic standards. I wouldn't recommend staying here, and management needs to address these issues.

I was here for my son's basic training graduation, and the place was dirty throughout. Hallways and the gym had dirt and trash on the floors. The pool was closed, and on the first day of my sister's stay someone used a pry bar to open it because they didn't have a key. Outside doors had no locks, and there was a homeless person asleep by the guest laundry when I was there. The room looked clean at first, but I work as a housekeeper and noticed plenty. The pullout couch still had filth and trash from past guests, the beds had no protectors, and the carpet needs professional cleaning. The bathtub needs refinishing, there was dirt in the bathroom floor corners, and miscellaneous things from previous guests were under the sink. The toilet seemed okay, though it could use a good bleaching. One wall picture was missing, with clear signs that one had been there. There were no hangers, iron, or laundry bags in the closet. The fridge wouldn't keep anything cold, and the air conditioner was loud enough to bother sleep.

We didn't stay. Our first room was already occupied, and the next one was still dirty, with food and pop on the floor and beds left unmade. The hallways were dirty and smelled bad, and I didn't feel safe. I asked for a refund. Don't stay here.

My first stay was pretty decent. The next time, there were more homeless people living around the building and I felt very insecure. Management seemed not to care. They also weren't courteous to people working night shifts, so I won't be back. It's sad, because this could be a nice hotel if there weren't so many homeless people around.
