My husband booked a night at the inn as a gift, but he wasn't with me and didn't have his card there. They charged my card instead. I understand keeping a card on file for incidentals, but I couldn't see why they had to refund his card and bill mine for the full stay. The room was uncomfortably hot, and the bed was not pleasant to sleep in. There was no deadbolt or latch on the door, either, which didn't help me feel at ease. The room could have been cleaner, and the tub drain was slow. Maybe the place used to merit four stars, but that wasn't my experience.

We chose this place for our honeymoon, and the front desk experience was a mess from the start. The receptionist was in a back room when we arrived, looked at us without saying hello, and only checked us in after I explained why we were there. She even said she didn't think anyone was checking in that day. A quick search on her computer showed our reservation, but they still weren't ready for us. We also weren't told to bring the physical card used to book so it could be scanned and copied. I showed her several forms of verification through Apple Wallet and the credit card app, where the number matched the one I'd already given over the phone, but she wouldn't check with management to see if those would work. We ended up paying on my wife's card, so a surprise I'd planned became a charge she had to see and pay. Our room was on the top floor, up a long staircase with all our luggage. Once we were finally settled and changed, we couldn't find the Wi-Fi details. I called, and the same receptionist said she'd forgotten to give them to us. She didn't bring them up, though. She told us to come back downstairs to get them. The room was also far too hot. We were sweating in bed, and the AC barely helped even on its lowest setting. It took more than 8 hours for the room to feel even a little cooler. The next day I explained everything to Manager Vada. She tried to excuse what happened and even blamed us for not calling in the middle of the night. We were confused because the receptionist had said she'd be there until 6, and hadn't said anyone else would be available. We also hadn't seen anyone downstairs at night. At least Vada recognized that some of the receptionist's mistakes couldn't be excused, but her response was still unacceptable. She kept talking about what she'd do in the future, like speaking to the receptionist or calling maintenance, which did nothing for what we'd already gone through. When she asked what I wanted her to do, I couldn't believe the manager was asking me that after such a badly botched stay. A respectable business would make things right. She didn't offer to address the stay or give us a future one. She removed the $50 early check-in fee and let us check out a few hours later, which I guess she thought was enough after ruining our honeymoon.

The room looked beautiful, and the hostess was really friendly. But there was dust, maybe because a snowstorm was coming and hardly anyone was checking in. The bigger problem was that neither heater worked properly. I couldn't enjoy the advertised fireplace, and the big space heater shut off in the night and never got above 60 degrees. I was so cold my fingers and face hurt, and I had to pile pillows under the blanket. I paid $171 with tax and would've stayed warmer at a chain hotel. At 4, I got up, packed, and warmed up in my truck before driving on. I'm going to ask for at least a partial refund because I hate being cold.

My husband has given this inn several chances because the location works for him, but something has gone wrong on every visit. It seems to change hands often, and nobody gets things sorted out. His complaints are much like the ones others have posted. This time the heat wasn't working properly and the room was cold. He won't be staying again.

The property itself was really nice, but the add-ons weren't worth paying for. I spent an extra $150 on fake rose petals and around six candles. Definitely not worth it.
