I'm glad Columbus Ks. Budget Inn is there for people who need an affordable place, whether they're passing through or dealing with something hard. As far as I know it's clean, too. A longtime friend of mine is going through cancer treatment, and I stop by now and then to see if they need anything. I'm grateful they had somewhere to stay. To me, that kind of help is a blessing, however anyone chooses to judge the place. Truth stays true whether we see it now or years from now. A lie can mislead and hurt people, while truth comes from love. That's a lot to say about this motel, I know. Amen. ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼

On the last night of my stay, I found the quiet I needed while saying goodbye to my older sister, my only best friend and a beautiful lady God gave us. She passed away on January 19, 2009. The owner was wonderful, very kind, and patient when I panicked after misplacing my keys. He was running the desk and cleaning rooms that day. Thank you so much. God bless you. 🙏❤️

We left after less than 20 minutes in Room 41. While pulling back the sheets, we spotted a large black hair and another cigarette burn on the fitted sheet, then saw what looked like a bed bug. I took a photo, squashed it, and checked its apple-seed shape and markings against reference information. When I showed the hotel manager, he argued that it wasn't a bed bug and denied it again after seeing the photo. He offered another room, but we weren't willing to stay. He said he wouldn't refund the full cost, though they eventually returned most of it. The room had other problems too. We'd asked for non-smoking for our family, but it smelled extremely musty, with cigarette burns in the carpet, taped-over holes in the wall, stained furniture, peeling paint, a toilet that struggled to flush, and a sink split in half and patched with silicone. We packed up quickly and removed our belongings. I'd suggest driving 30 minutes to Pittsburg,KS and choosing a large chain hotel.

We planned to stay a week, but left after only two days because the manager kept calling our room and knocking on the door. He said my husband and I had more than two people staying there, claimed he was watching the cameras, and I found him lurking outside. It was really disturbing. The room also felt very insecure. The exterior door had a push-button lock and inside handle, with no deadbolt or other lock. The bathroom door had the same level of security. We didn't leave anything valuable behind. I'd skip Budget Inn and stay somewhere else.

This is a clean, comfortable basic hotel if that's what you're after. The staff were especially accommodating when I had a special request, really nice people. Just keep in mind it's no-frills and doesn't offer the kind of concierge service you'd expect from a four-star place.
