Columbus Inn

The AC got nice and cold, and at about $67 the room was cheap. It was pretty rough, though: hard bed, just two pillows, no fire alarm, lots of shower tiles missing, and an industrial blower sitting by the kitchen sink. If I can afford somewhere else, I will, but in a pinch I’d stay here over sleeping in my car.

We were exhausted, so we stayed, but the bathroom was filthy, far too nasty to shower in. The microwave looked untouched by a cleaner, and there was dried food on the bedspread. My grandson got bitten several times by something while he slept. They advertise breakfast, but all they had was coffee. They clearly don’t take pride in keeping the place clean, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

For what we paid, the room itself was decent and clean. The walls are really thin, though, and people chatting outside our door at 2:30 in the morning kept us up for a while. Breakfast was only cereal, stale coffee, and cheap packaged danishes, so we went somewhere else to eat.

The person at the desk was very nice, but the room was a mess. There was grime everywhere and smashed bugs on the wall. The bathroom light didn’t work, and the water kept running all night because it wouldn’t shut off. The bed felt like cardboard. It might get you through the night, but it won’t be comfortable or clean.
