Comfort Inn Columbus near Fort Benning

If you’re an athlete who loves cold showers, this place is for you. I’m not. And the hotel apparently decided not to let the toilets flush, which is so considerate of them. I’m collecting all the hairs I find in the bathroom to make a wig for the mean guy at reception!

The rooms were okay, but some staff couldn’t speak English. I had to use their phone to ask for towels and sort out a shower problem. I don’t know how they ran out of towels, and the place needs more attention to cleaning. The woman in charge of breakfast was fantastic, friendly, and full of energy. I wish the rest of the staff had the same energy.

Melinda was the bright spot, if she was working, since the breakfast was good. Otherwise, after four nights of lukewarm showers that turned into no hot water at all, I went to the front desk. They offered a room on another floor, but its heater didn’t work and blew cold air. Even after waiting over an hour, there was no hot water there either. They offered no discount, so we checked out early and spent the remaining three nights at another hotel. We’d originally booked seven nights to visit our son at Fort Benning. The place is run down and nothing seems to be maintained. I’d only recommend it if you like cold showers, no heat, and poor maintenance, but want a good breakfast.

Carly at the front desk was VERY nice, and this has nothing to do with how she treated us. The room was the most disgusting hotel room I’ve ever seen. We’d driven from five states away to pick up a loved one for Christmas and checked in just before 2 a.m., hoping for a couple hours of sleep before the long drive home. The room looked so bad that we didn’t stay at all. We picked up our family member and drove home without sleeping. I can’t understand how housekeeping could consider it clean. 0/10, absolutely would NOT recommend.
