Comfort Inn & Suites Columbus North

We like this location when we visit, and so far things have gone well. After last year’s remodeling, the rooms were clean, fresh, and comfortable for me. The others in our group were happy with theirs too. The breakfast bar was okay, though I’m not much of a hotel breakfast person and could’ve used more fresh fruit. The coffee was great!

Tyler, the young man working the evening shift, was pleasant and patient with us while we checked in, even though our reservations were messed up. We’d booked several rooms a month in advance for a family gathering. He made the stay more tolerable and deserves a raise. He’s the only good thing this hotel has. The rooms were dirty, with mystery stains on the furniture, walls, and fixtures, and the whole second floor smelled of mold and mildew. I’d heard the place had been renovated recently, but it still needs a lot of work. We checked in for four people and got only two towels and washcloths, one set smelling of urine, so I bought our own. Housekeeping never came by during the stay. After we’d been out for eight hours, the bathroom smelled like someone had pooped there, and there were stains in the toilet. I urge anyone considering this place to look elsewhere.

The staff were courteous and helpful, and my room was clean. Breakfast was hot and delicious.

The free breakfast was great, but I was disappointed that the pool was closed for repairs. The office chairs in the rooms weren’t good at all, my brother and daughter both fell out of them. The in-room fridge wouldn’t get cold, so we bought a cooler and ice for the things we needed to keep chilled. One other concern: the elevator inspection certificate posted inside had expired in 2023. It says it’s valid for another year, but it’s now 2025, so I hope the elevator has been inspected.
