Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Columbus near Fort Benning

I've been here since March 1, 2026 and have extended my stay by another week. I'm grateful they kept my belongings safe while I was in the hospital. Right after checking in, within five minutes, I suddenly couldn't breathe. I was alone, in a wheelchair, and an amputee, so I rushed to the door and rolled to the office to signal for an ambulance. They acted quickly, and I was on my way to the hospital within five minutes. I had congestive heart failure, but I'm doing fine now. I did have to pay for the room again.

The customer service has been wonderful. My fiance and I are moving from Atlanta to Columbus and will stay here while we look for a home. We wanted somewhere peaceful and quiet, with business opportunities, and the price works for us. It feels like a big difference from Atlanta.

The staff were very nice, and that was the one thing this place had going for it. My son had graduated and needed a few hours of rest before returning to base, so I came through and sat in the car while he rested. Everything felt coated in a sticky, filthy film, from the remote and doorknob to the chair. Thank goodness I had Clorox wipes. I wouldn't bring my dog here. For this price, I could have stayed overnight at a 3-star place. I'm so disgusted I may need to see a doctor.

This is a simple place to sleep if you're working on the road, but it doesn't really cater to families. I had a double room meant for four, yet it only came with two towels, one washcloth, and one hand towel. If you're bringing more than two people, expect to ask the desk for extra linens.
