I lived here for three years, and this place has been a massive disaster. Units are old, smelly, poorly maintained, and prone to flooding. There are live cockroaches and mice, mold, trash piling up weekly, frequent break-ins, and appliances that stop working every few months. Smoke detector batteries needed replacing; a work order was marked complete even though several alarms kept beeping, so I had to submit another. Flooded carpet can sit for weeks or months while mold grows, and I've had multiple urgent care visits for respiratory problems. Maintenance is not equipped to handle issues properly, and work orders submitted through the app, in person, and by phone often went unanswered or were handled badly. Problems needed repeated calls, and I had thousands of dollars in property damage. After an electrical fire, it took more than two years and many work orders for them to address the outlet. They said, “outlet works, not a hazard,” and I had to explain why that wasn't appropriate and how to fix it. They don't do yearly or seasonal unit maintenance either, so air and vent filters aren't replaced, and a hot water tank valve running through the furnace/AC is left open. The AC then struggles to cool the unit and runs constantly, driving up electric bills. The property is falling apart because there's no preventative work, just bandages on bigger problems. Communication, organization, and integrity are poor. The Connor group uses this community as a training site for new managers, and in my experience they focus on numbers and say or do whatever it takes to meet goals. Managers move to other locations within 3-6 months, and no one takes responsibility. Carrie is the worst manager I've dealt with: aggressive, unprofessional, and prone to lies, gaslighting, and threats. She doesn't seem to know what she's doing. I haven't seen residents leave faster than when she took over. Other employees and managers don't seem to know what they're doing either, and nothing gets done. They threatened my rental history over an in-app problem that they repeatedly said they'd fixed, but it took almost a year to actually resolve. I finally held my rent payment to get work orders addressed. After I reported them to the health department and attorney general, they said they'd give me a bad rental history and make me ineligible to transfer to another unit, essentially leaving me homeless. I'd been too understanding and patient about them meeting their lease obligations; when I started holding them accountable, they tried to undermine my ability to find housing. The apartments are overpriced, with very old appliances that haven't been maintained. They recently made exterior repairs to the shared buildings, but don't let the appearance fool you. There are still major problems with basic things that shouldn't happen when you rent under a contract, as well as many smaller everyday issues that go unresolved. You can get a better price in a similar school district, without the toll this place takes on your health, finances, credit, and stress.
