Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Columbus

The rooms have plenty of space for 2-4 people, with two TVs, a desk for work, and a sink separate from the toilet and shower, which I liked. One of our TVs didn't work, but it didn't really matter. Getting internet access took a little figuring out, since I had to look up where to find the sign-in site instead of getting full access automatically. The staff were absolutely amazing and took great care of our very large group. Thanks for all the support!

I got to the hotel at 9:55 PM, but nobody was at the front desk. I could hear someone on the phone in a back room, but they didn't come out until 10:30 PM, even though I tried to get their attention. Then the employee said they had no room keys and had to go to another location to get some. I waited another 20 minutes for them to leave and come back. They said they'd bring a key to my room, but nobody came, even by 12:30 AM. I never got a key at all, so I couldn't get into my room again in the morning and missed breakfast. At checkout, the receptionist asked about my stay. When I explained what happened, she laughed at me, said “have a good day,” and told me I had been checked out. No apology, concern, or effort to make things right. This was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional hotel stays I've had. The staffing and communication were poor, and the customer service was downright disrespectful. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The hotel could use renovations, but the staff were absolutely amazing. Every person I dealt with was so friendly and hospitable, from the front desk to the woman working breakfast and the people cleaning. They all went above and beyond. I can't say enough about them.

The bathroom was the main problem during my week here in February 2020. The tub had visible grime down the bottom and sides, and the toilet had stubborn waterline stains and dark spots, making the whole space feel dingy. The room itself was spacious enough, and breakfast had the usual things like eggs and coffee. Staff were friendly at check-in, but maintenance needs attention. At this rate, it was passable for a quick overnight, but I'm coming back to the area and see nothing has changed. I'll choose a more capable hotel brand and won't return.
