Marriott Columbus OSU

I stay here regularly because I like the hotel, but housekeeping completely ignores late checkout. I had a 4 pm checkout and was woken up three times while trying to rest before my flight. Now I’ve got a terrible headache. Do better, or I’ll start avoiding this place if it isn’t fixed.

The rooms are nice, but not any better than other hotels, and there’s no microwave in the room. The price wasn’t worth it for a stay of less than 24 hours, especially since we couldn’t check in until after 6 pm. We’d been at a 7:30 football game, so we didn’t get in until 11 pm. There are plenty of cheaper options nearby. Lesson learned, I won’t stay at a Marriott again.

We went to a concert down the street and loved the hotel. The only reason I gave it four stars is that the signs need improvement. We got completely lost trying to find the lobby from the fourth floor, and asked if we could move to a room closer to it. Aside from that, it was great!

I’m a Marriott member and it’s usually my preferred hotel, but my last two stays have been a big disappointment. In both cases the basic cleaning wasn’t done, and for a $200-a-night room that doesn’t seem like too much to expect. On my most recent visit, there were strands of hair on the pillow, floor, and inside the shower. You couldn’t miss them. Did anyone actually clean the room, or just replace the towels and trash bins? The coffee pot already had old water in it, and the maker was filthy. My August stay was the same. I’m thinking of switching my membership to Hilton.
