Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Columbus Airport

Fairfield by Marriot has always treated our family well. The staff are welcoming and respectful, and the airport shuttle driver is helpful and polite. The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, as well as local stores and restaurants if you need them.

The room was comfortable, and it didn't feel freezing even with the fall weather. No odd smells, and the bathroom was a good size and looked nice. The lobby and breakfast area were pleasant too. It's easy to find on Google and right near the airport. The person at check-in was friendly and professional.

The room was nice overall, though I spotted some trash under the bed and smudges on the TV. We don't usually make a fuss about little things. Getting in was frustrating, though: construction has the road narrowed to two tight lanes, and the hotel was hard to find coming off the highway. The bigger issue was a marijuana smell in the fourth-floor hallway. We don't personally mind it, but our kids couldn't sleep and had headaches, asking all night why it smelled like a skunk. I don't know whether the property is meant to be smoke-free. The desk clerk was lovely when we first spoke, and Celeste quickly apologized, moved us to another room, and had a new key ready when we came down with our things. She also recommended the breakfast, which was delicious. I'd consider staying again. Thanks for the breakfast and for taking care of us, Celeste.

The airport shuttle was excellent, and you'll need it: construction and the lack of sidewalks mean you can't walk from here to the main airport. I stayed to save time before an early flight from CMH. The room was a bit small but comfortable enough for one night. The water pressure was great, though it took about five minutes for the shower to get hot. The front desk staff were fairly pleasant until I mentioned the Wi-Fi, which took around 30 minutes to connect and was pretty bad. Since the hotel is close to the airport, plane noise could also be a problem for light sleepers. I'd stay here if I needed airport access.
