Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus Polaris

The room was comfortable and the beds were comfy. The staff were nice, apart from the housekeeper, who seemed annoyed that we hadn't left and hadn't noticed our late checkout. We work nights and didn't get in until 5 AM, so please be patient. You never know what schedule someone has. There was dust all over after construction, including so much in the AC filters that I cleaned them myself. The exhaust fan was dusty too, and its light didn't work. The faucet was loose, and the shower curtain was too short, so water got all over the floor. We would stay again because it wasn't a horrible stay, but they need to pay more attention to cleaning and make sure housekeeping knows about late checkouts.

I stayed here for seven days spread across two weeks. During the second week, several cars were broken into, including mine. My car was parked right in front of the main entrance doors, and that didn’t seem to matter. We were told similar break-ins had happened two weeks earlier, so security seems awful. No one apologized, offered to help clear the glass, or offered compensation. There wasn’t even a simple sorry. Don’t stay here.

We checked out just 30 minutes after arriving because neither room was clean. The first had food in the fridge and an unclean floor; the replacement room was no better. They initially said leaving so soon wouldn’t be a problem, but then charged us a one-night penalty they had said they wouldn’t charge. Marriott corporate had to refund us. The hotel was disgusting and seemed to have no normal cleaning process. I wouldn’t stay here, and the charge felt like a scam.

I’d chosen this hotel for several trips before, but this stay changed my mind. The first room had dirty sheets with hair and oily marks. When I asked for a replacement, the next room had blood stains on the mattress protector. I’ll stay somewhere else next time.
