Since moving to 80 on The Commons last August, I've found the office staff and maintenance team helpful, responsive, and professional. The building is cleaned often, and I like the measures that keep people from wandering onto floors where they don't live. They also updated the community room, which is now a beautiful, useful spot to work remotely or relax. I toured countless nearby properties before choosing this one. The apartments are beautiful and well crafted, and the location is stellar, close to lots of attractions. My only complaint so far is the winter electric bill, though that's an issue for NEC rather than the property. It's a solid choice if you're looking to move downtown in Columbus.

The room was clean, spacious, and quiet, and the workout facilities were really good. Helpful text updates and an easy website made getting our keys, finding the room, and checking in simple. Incredible experience. This is my new go-to place to stay, in Columbus and across the country.

I've been here less than two months, and it's been awful. Safety is the biggest issue. The building shares a public garage where anyone can wander around. I've been followed, had disturbing notes left with details like my license plate information, and had people knock on my door uninvited more than once. I brought my concerns to the property manager and was told there was nothing they could do. With the problems unresolved, I had to break my lease and pay a penalty of two extra months' rent. It's a complete joke. Be very cautious if you're considering this place, and check the area around the garage carefully. Save yourself and don't move in here.

The staff were a huge part of what made my year at 80 on the Commons memorable. Katie, Ryan, and the maintenance team were amazing. They greeted me when I came and went on my walks, helped with concerns right away, and were gracious and flexible about my lease. I only had one maintenance issue, and they responded almost instantly and fixed it. The other tenants were friendly too. I chose 80otc for my dream of living downtown for a year, and I'm glad I did. The views from my unit's balcony were spectacular, the location was unbeatable, and maintenance was responsive, though I hardly needed it. I walked part of the Scioto Mile almost every day. Mikey's, Dirty Franks, and 16-bit were regular stops just minutes away on foot. Cosi was under a 15-minute walk, Kroger under 20. With a longer walk, I could get to the North Market, Columbus Convention Center, and Arena District. The Palace, Ohio, and Southern theaters were all close. I joked that if I were a pitcher, I could've hit the Ohio Theater with a baseball from my balcony. If it hadn't been cancelled, I could've watched Red, White, & Boom from there. Covid made it a sad year, because there probably isn't a better spot in Columbus to enjoy city life. My utility bills were surprisingly low. I like keeping it very cool in summer, but my energy bill went up maybe $20 in the hottest months. In winter I could mostly leave the heat off because the building's ambient temperature kept my place warm enough. The half-open footbridge was a minor annoyance. Staff knew about it and said they were exploring options, though I ended up caring less than I expected. Many nearby apartments don't even have a partly covered bridge to the closest parking, so this was still a plus over crossing a road. The elevators could be slow, so allow extra time when moving in or out. It wasn't a big deal, but I would've liked another residential elevator.
