Clifford at the front desk is probably the nicest person we’ve ever met in the hotel business. He’s always positive, greets you, and is just a great human being. We come several times a year for competitive cheer at the convention center, and the rooms are consistently clean. Service is top notch, valet is convenient and reasonably priced compared with other parking, and breakfast is good. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else downtown Columbus.

Breakfast was far more than a grab and go, with pretty much any breakfast favorite available, and there was a dedicated space to sit and enjoy it. The hotel is modern throughout, with a spacious twin queen room, updated fixtures, and an impressive, very clean bathroom. The Hampton "plush" beds lived up to their name. Staff looked and acted professional, and the welcome was warm. We were in town for a volleyball tournament, and the location was ideal for the Convention Center. Very impressed with our weekend.

Customer service was very poor all around. I arrived early Saturday afternoon before my room was ready and asked to valet the car and leave my bags with concierge. They said the garage was full and to try again in a few hours. At 7:30pm, even as a HILTON GOLD member who stayed 48 NIGHTS LAST YEAR, my virtual card still showed ‘preparing room’. I waited in the front desk line, got physical keys, and was offered two bottles of water for the trouble, though that’s standard for gold members anyway. An hour later, I called for late checkout and the front desk phone rang for 7 minutes 34 seconds before anyone picked up. This used to be a very good hotel.

Everyone was friendly, and the hotel was clean and well kept. It’s in a great location for our downtown plans, right across from the Arnold Statue and next door to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Breakfast was nice too.

Meryem provided top notch service and made my stay awesome. The staff were excellent, and this is a beautiful Hampton Inn. I’m a Hilton honors member and travel with Hilton all the time, so I highly recommend staying here.
