Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus

The hotel was exactly what my family needed when they came to get away from the ice in Oxford. It was very clean, and Antais was incredibly helpful throughout their stay. The hospitality alone makes this place easy to recommend! 5 ⭐️

I’ve stayed here twice recently as a Hilton honors member, and the heating setup has made both visits uncomfortable. The thermostat is limited to 75 degrees in the cold season, and the heat won’t stay on, so the room still feels cold when it’s 30 outside. I’m not asking for 80, but 75 isn’t enough. The hotel now keeps every door, including the front entrance, locked all day and night, so you need a key to enter at any hour. That’s inconvenient, and the front desk seemed to be repeating a script to other guests with the same complaint. Unless they fix this, this was probably my last stay. Adults are here, but the heating rules make us feel monitored like children.

The EV chargers were all out of service, which was disappointing since charging is a main factor in where we choose to stay. The AC also wasn’t working because the thermostat batteries were dead, and nobody on staff knew how to replace them. They offered us another room, but the rest of my party was already asleep, so changing rooms wasn’t convenient.

The hotel was clean, comfortable enough for a business trip, and the staff were pleasant overall. I wasn’t greeted as a honors member, and despite having a booking confirmation, I was told there were no king bed rooms. When I asked for water, she took one of the bottles out of the bag before handing it over. Breakfast was below what I’ve had at other Hilton hotels, both in the number of choices and their quality.
