Hilton Garden Inn Columbus Easton

The location is convenient, but I wouldn't stay here again. We arrived for a girls' night and found the in-house restaurant closed. Check-in took about 20 minutes, and the workers were rude. They didn't even give us our room number or explain where the elevator was. The room looked clean, but the pillows were tiny, like toddler pillows or throw pillows for a little Ikea couch. The whole lobby smelled of cigarette and weed smoke from people smoking right beside the revolving door.

The only person I'll give credit to was the woman who cleaned the room, two hours after we reported the problem. The front desk staff, two women and a man, had an awful, don't-care attitude. They refused to come see the room and told us to bring pictures downstairs. This was Saturday night, one of the busiest nights, and there was somehow no manager on duty. We checked in, got to our room, and it was filthy. They offered no discount or refund, just said they'd clean it. Very disappointed, Hilton. Our night was ruined, and it didn't seem to matter to anyone at the desk.

The building and amenities looked nice, but don't let that fool you. My daughter and I were only passing through for the night, and the location near Easton was convenient. Check-in felt like it took forever. At first, we were impressed by the room, until we turned on the bathroom light and cockroaches scattered everywhere. We returned the key to the front desk and explained why we were leaving. We then paid for another room at the Hampton Inn, and seven months later I'm still waiting for the refund. Stay at the Hampton Inn down the road.

The room itself was frustrating too. The bed pillows were tiny, there were no extra pillows or blanket in the closet, and the heater made an awful racket as it switched on and off. I hoped its fan would cover the noise from the hallway, but it was loud enough to make things worse. Guests were noisy from 10:30 p.m. until 3 a.m., talking loudly and walking the halls. They were smoking weed, and children were left unattended at 3 a.m. One child was knocking on their door, trying to get in while their siblings were inside. Other guests complained, and someone from the front desk came up, but I don't know what happened after that. I got no sleep and had to go home earlier than planned. This is the second Hilton branded hotel in Columbus that's let me down. I won't use this chain again. Hotels need to hold guests accountable for disrupting others. They should have to pay for my room. Do not go here.
